Rail bus RA-1-731: CMDCS >>>
Central Monitoring & Diagnostic Control System (CMDCS)
    The multiprocessor monitoring & diagnostic control system is a base facility for the monitoring, diagnostics, and control of the RA1 Railbus.
    The set of system components is as follows:
- monitoring & diagnostic driver's board, units - 2;
- unit of information receiving and processing - 1;
- control register, units - 1...4 (up to 8);
- protection device, units -2
The heat-, dust-, water- and vibroproof construction. 24-hour service cycle.
Information is displayed as:
- colored symbols;
- colored scales;
- text;
- digits;
- alarming signals.
The displays are grouped over the main vehicle systems related to symbols of a key board. The alarm signalling of system performance is separated and functions independently till the full stop of electric equipment.
Databus: 68 channels.
Electronic sensors for measuring temperature, pressure, and the number of revolutions.
Output voltage: 4 - 20 mV. Supply voltage: 18 - 38 V.
The control system maintains:
    • the pre-starting preparation of the diesel engine and the thermal conditions of a turned-off engine in winter time;
    • start of the diesel engine;
    • the blocking of start/stop of the engine;
    • the control over the thermal balance of the engine-transmission system;
    • the control over the illumination, heating, and ventilation of the passenger saloon;
    • control of moving using a preset map;
    • driver test;
    • the control over a slip/slide protection system.
The CMDCS is linked to a personal computer for transmitting the information to high-order monitoring & diagnostic systems both in moving and at rest.
