    The Mytischi Machine-building Plant was founded at Mytischi near Moscow in 1897 for manufacturing railcars. Its initial products were passenger, freight for Russian North Railway. Production of tramcars for Moscow-city started in 1903. The first electric passenger trains for Russia were produced by the Mytischi Carriage-building Plant in 1929 and the first metrocars for Moscow Metro were made in 1934. Since 1942 the Plant has been producing self-propelled gun systems and military tractors. In the same year the Design Department was established. The Department has been developing and producing tracked vehicles for Army for more than 60 years. These years gave to METROWAGONMASH large experience in designing and production of the armored tracked vehicles. An own school of designing, testing and investigations of chassis was founded. METROWAGONMASH is a leading Russian firm in the field of designing and production of the tracked vehicles for up-to-date anti-aircraft systems.

    In 1947 the Plant mastered dump truck production that was a new direction of production for it. Now dump truck production is actively developing and, side by side with the metrocar production, is an identity card of the Plant. As a result, the following three main directions of the Plant's activities have been formed and are progressing:

- production of metrocars;
- production of dump trucks;
- production of armored tracked vehicles.

    The Company with a production site of more than 80 hectares in area is situated four kilometers from Moscow and has available all necessaries for engineering production. The Plant includes its own foundry, forge, facilities for sheet-metal forming, machining, heat-treatment and electroplating equipped with up-to-date high-duty equipment, and powerful painting apparatuses. Tool production and non-standard equipment production ensure a high technical level of products. Test stations and proving grounds guarantee high quality of products. The Company is connected to main railway and highway by its own approach tracks.

    Experienced and skill designers of three specialized design departments carry out a design work.
