    After the beginning of war Mitishi the carload factory has received the governmental task for release of military production and was transferred in National commissariat arms. Manufacture of cases for aerial bombs, shells, platforms for antiaircraft - artillery systems began. Despite of daily airstrikes, a factory did not interrupt an industrial mode on one, worked in two changes.

    October, 10, 1941 was accepted decision to evacuate Mitishi a factory to Ural. October, 17 from station Mytishchi with the factory equipment and commodity cars, and the first echelon has gone to them workers aside Ural.

    Meanwhile Moscow Regional committee of Communist party has made the decision: the staying after evacuation free capacities to involve for release caps, antitank "hedgehogs" and also to organize manufacture a pomegranate, shells and repair of combat material. Thus the factory has remained without the equipment, materials, fuel and a labour. But due to self-denying work to the deputy director of a factory D.F.Pankratova, the chief of mechanical shop S.N. Markova and others in the beginning of November one shop was available to work. Simultaneously there was a preparation of other shops. People worked days and night in cold cases, machine tools worked continuously. For the first month the factory has cast 18 caps on 4.5 tons everyone, have prepared over 110 thousand cases for antitank a pomegranate. At the end of November at a factory have started punching basic plates and assembly of antiaircraft armored trains. Workers have executed the labour order, despite of all complexities, not having neither drawings, nor preparations.

    In March, 1942 the factory began release of cases and separate details from jet shells. April, 21, 1942 State Commitee the USSR has made the decision on returning the evacuated equipment. In the same year at the enterprise the design office was created and the batch production of artillery installations SAI-76 is adjusted, and the factory was renamed into a factory ¹ 40.

    In 1945 the factory has mastered release of new self-propelled installations with four antiaircraft machine guns, and then powerful caterpillar tractors.

    For front the factory was awarded for exemplary performance of tasks an award of Domestic war of the first degree.
