    After victorious end of Great World War II there was a serious need for prime necessities. At a factory the shop of consumer goods which first production became hammers, wall shelfs, first-aid sets, children's ski, door loops, tables, bedside-tables and many other things was organized.

    In the beginning of 1946 the decision on renewal on Mitishi a factory of manufacture of cars for underground was accepted. And at the end of the same year manufacture of dumpers was organized. Have received also new development orders of the Ministry of Defence.

    So, in the first post-war year the structure of a factory kept down to last years was generated. In essence " under one roof " it was created three different manufactures: mass automobile, serial carload and a batch production of defensive engineering.

    Mitishi the factory the first in the country has mastered mass production of dumpers after war. To middle of 1947 dumpers ZIS-05 have already appeared on numerous construction of the country.

    Hardly earlier, at the end of 1946 designers from ОCB-40 have created new caterpillar tractor M-2.

    In 1948 under the direction of designer N.A.Astrova the first model of self-propelled artillery installation for airlanding armies - the management information SYSTEM - 57 was issued. This machine was recognized by Military experts as the best in the world in the class of fighting machines. This work was marked by the State premium of the USSR.

In the same years dumpers of a factory began to be delivered on export to China, Mongolia, Korea, Albania, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Iran and other countries.

    In 1958 in structure of a department of the main technologist were created by a bureau on development of the non-standard equipment, mechanization and automation of manufacture. And in 1958 the decision of the Ministry on the basis of these bureaues organized a department of mechanization and automation (OHM) which was headed by talented engineer V.N.Donskov.

    Works ОCB-40 proceeded in the field of designing military engineering. In middle of 50 designers have created artillery caterpillar self-propelled installation SI-85. the antiaircraft self-propelled installation ZSI-23-4 ("Shilka" which is not having of analogues at that time among antiaircraft means defense of other countries was developed. Wide unification the chassis of models Gm - 575, Gm, - 568 Gm - 578 has provided the beginning of manufacture of a rocket complex of "Cuba" in 1967. Creation multi-purpose unified the chassis was consequence of long-term purposeful work ОCB-40. The military machines made in Mitishi, found the increasing recognition in the world. In 1966 in special manufacture the new division - shop of external works № 5, subsequently renamed in ORD-5 (a Operation-repair department) which was engaged in particular in maintenance service of machines abroad was created.
