TWO-CAR DIESEL TRAIN - RA-V >>>

The 731.25 rail bus (RA-V) is designed for passenger transit at railway sections without electrification and also for railways of suburban and interregional service.
RA-V is a train, which always consists of two sections with driver's cabs and a connecting gangway of sealed type. The gangway provides the united internal space. The system of multiple operated units makes it possible to make up a train of 3 RA-Vs. The power-plant, operation systems and the traction drive are mounted under the bottom of the car between the bogies. The torque is transferred to two axles of one bogie.
In RA-V modern technical design and materials are used: the body is made of stainless steel, pneumatic cushioning with floor level adjustment, non-flammable materials, shockproof windshield with heating, special doors, moving out steps which let the passengers go in and out of the train on low platforms.
In RA-V monoblock power-plant "Powerpack" is used: "MTU" diesel engine, "Voith" hydrodynamical transmission, an engine and transmission cooling system and a muffler are mounted on a single frame. All units of a monoblock power transmission are attached to the frame by resilient elements that provide high level of vibration resistance.
The equipment of a passenger saloon and driver's cabs with a heating system, forced ventilation, window multiple glass units and reliable heat and sound insulation provides comfort for passengers; and the availability of an automatic locomotive signaling system, dead man controller, on-board information control system, blocking devices operating when the driver passes from one cab to another, automatically opening doors, reliable braking system makes the journey maximally safe. To raise the comfort an air conditioning system and a lavatory block with a vacuum toilet are included into the set of standard equipment.
